AHHH, It Was A Grand Event, And As Magnificent As The Architecture!

The Inaugural Louisville at West Baden Concours d'Elegance was as magnificent as the Venue itself. Even though we experienced some rain, it did not diminish the experience of such a grand Host Resort. We are already salivating at the thought of next year's event which promises to be even better since the 2014 Marquee is the Automobiles of Carroll Shelby. What a treat.

While our Club's turnout was somewhat smaller than in year's past Concours in Louisville, we had a nice showing with the following members showing their true grit at the event this year. Amy and Duke Williamson from Georgetown, KY, Bill and Rochella Alley from Lexington, KY, Eddie Kannapel from Hardinsburg, KY and his lovely friend LouAnn, John and Karen Czarnecki, from Sunman, Indiana, Don and Vickie Muirheid from Cincinnati, Ross and LeaAnn Lyle from Prospect, KY, Sam and Monika Jackson from Fincastle, KY, Juan and Cindy Lopez-Bonilla from Louisville, KY, and Bob Stauble and lovely wife from Louisville KY.

Bob Stauble won Best in Class at the Judged category with his Superformance NOBLE, CONGRATULATIONS.

We made many new friendships at the event including that of our newest members, Mr and Mrs Gary Bartlett, from Muncie, Indiana. Gary is the proud owner of the incredible Shelby Cobra 427 CSX 3006, originally Guardsman Blue with White Stripes when first built, later raced by Bob Bondurant. Gary is sending us more information on this incredible find in our midst and we will be doing a Feature article on him and his car and heritage. Stay tuned for more soon. Gary is also the owner of a SUPER RARE GT40 MKIII.

We are so grateful for the Event's organizers' hard work and all the workers that made this event a smooth one. Leslie Smart, Yvonne Lehring and Pat PalmerBall worked had all year to make this possible as well as the entire Hotel Resort Staff and team of organizers and volunteers. On behalf of the entire Kentucky Cobra Club, A BIG THANK YOU for their hospitality and Graciousness to all participants. We are so looking forward to support their efforts next year.

And, just in case you are wondering who the two Goofballs as Bubble, Bobble heads are, they are Juan and Cindy Lopez-Bonilla's youngest sons, Marcos on the left and Bradley on the right.
