April Snakes n' Eggs Apr 10, 2010 - Apr 10, 2010
April 10th at 10:45AM The Kentucky Cobra Club sailed into Hebron, Kentucky with all flags flying. The early starters began with the ambient at 27F and frost on the daffodils.clear skies brought warmer temperatures by the arrival at Greater Cincinnati Performance Cars. We met a dozen or so members of the newly forming Ohio Valley Cobra Club and marveled at cobras, sunshine and Bill Littleton's array of food for lunch. A fair number of these folks were from north of the Ohio river. Nevertheless, those of us speaking southern clearly outnumbered those speaking northern. There could have been a skirmish for sure. My snake eats southern cobras for breakfast. Stuff like that. There were clearly bulges in pant pockets. The bulges turned out to be wallets used to make a donation for the grub. The breakfast comment was followed by a smile and what might have turned into a something on the nightly news, turned out instead to be a fun filled, back slapping good time for all. Everyone felt great. The OVCC people got to see just how informal the KCC folks really are. We did tell some lies, ours were better.
Next events are the track at Sparta, Kentucky on the 24th of April and after that the 4th Annual Toad Hill Farm Cobra Run on 8 May. Everyone was invited, everyone got some sun, met some new faces and took one of those big sighs that signal, this is great. It is great to be alive.
Thanks to Bill Littleton for hosting and to John Czarnecki for leading a group cruise to a park
overlooking Cincinnati on the river. Good job all. |
