Pay It Forward
The Silvers Picnic---28 August 2010

The expression "pay it forward" is used to describe the concept of asking that a good turn be repaid by having it done to others instead.  The Kentucky Cobra Club got a taste of "pay it forward" on 28 August 2010.  Club members Mike and Jackie Silvers invited the club to a picnic at their place in Lexington.  The weather was grand, the food was spectacular, the people convivial and suddenly "pay it forward" was a living message.  The entire crew, with cobras parked all-in-a-row, enjoyed the family atmosphere;  and in what is becoming a KCC tradition, served themselves from a car-lift banquet table. A clever "COBRA" melon set the tone while the view of horses to the west and the easy "you are welcome" style made the day one to remember.

Bam-Bam Juan the Man Lopez, our club founder, had sixties music blasting from his cobra, Vince proved once again he cannot back a cobra, and Dave parked cross-wise.   Who cares, everyone was glad to see everyone.  Yes, everyone did feel like family.  And only because Jackie and Mike rolled out a welcome mat as broad as the Bluegrass.  We thank them.

Watch your email for a reminder of the September Snake and Eggs which will be in Georgetown on the eleventh.  The next event will be the run to lunch at the Overlook Inn on the 28th of September.  Juan has tickets for the Louisville Concours d'Elegance.  The club will participate on 3 October at Churchill Downs in Louisville.

Check out the photos.  Yes, it really was that nice.

Thank You Mike and Jackie, you truly embody the spirit of the Kentucky Cobra Club.
